Game 1 - Lincoln Land Loggers Defeats Lewis & Clark CC On Back Of Clutch Display From Finchum

Shelby Finchum drove in five runs on four hits to lead Lincoln Land Loggers past Lewis & Clark CC 19-4 on Wednesday at LLCC. Shelby Finchum hit a home run to center field in the second scoring three, doubled in the first scoring one, and singled in the fourth scoring one.
Lewis & Clark CC jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Kaydence Harlan was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Alissa Sauls singled, scoring two runs. Lincoln Land Loggers tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a double by Shelby Finchum, a sacrifice fly by Ryleigh Davidson, and a double by Abby Mcdonald.
Lincoln Land Loggers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 8-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to center field by Shelby Finchum on an 0-2 count that drove in three.
Lincoln Land Loggers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Abby Hendricks tripled down the right field line, Maddie Adams doubled to right field, and Brooke Goetter singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Lincoln Land Loggers scored eight runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Camryn Patterson homered to center field, scoring three runs, Shelby Finchum singled, scoring one run, Faith Nestler singled, scoring one run, Emmy Renfro singled, scoring one run, and Madison Kloba singled, scoring two runs. Lewis & Clark CC scored one run in the top of the fifth on a solo home run to left field by Brooke Donohue.
Faith Nestler earned the win for Lincoln Land Loggers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking three. Alyssa Owen took the loss for Lewis & Clark CC. The pitcher went three innings, allowing 11 runs (six earned) on 10 hits, striking out none and walking four.
Lincoln Land Loggers tallied 16 hits in the game. Sam Gleckler and Maddie Adams each collected multiple hits for Lincoln Land Loggers. Abby Mcdonald led Lincoln Land Loggers with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game.
Alissa Sauls led Lewis & Clark CC with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The second baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Brooke Donohue led Lewis & Clark CC with two hits in three at bats.

Lincoln Land Loggers could not keep up with Lewis & Clark CC 8-5 on Wednesday at LLCC. Lewis & Clark CC got on the board in the top of the first inning after B Donohue homered to left field, scoring two runs, A Sauls drew a walk, scoring one run, H Webb drew a walk, scoring one run, and A Heitzman doubled, scoring two runs.
A Owen earned the win for Lewis & Clark CC. The starter allowed five hits and four runs over five and one-third innings, striking out none and walking five. Brooke Boden pitched six and one-third innings in relief for Lincoln Land Loggers. The reliever gave up seven hits and two runs (one earned) while, striking out four and walking one. Maddie Adams took the loss for Lincoln Land Loggers. The pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, giving up six runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking four.
Brooke Boden, Ryleigh Davidson, Abby Hendricks, Shelby Finchum, Maddie Adams, and Abby Mcdonald each collected one hit for Lincoln Land Loggers. Maddie Adams led Lincoln Land Loggers with two runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Lincoln Land Loggers had a strong eye at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.
A Heitzman went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. B Donohue led Lewis & Clark CC with three hits in four at bats. K Harlan and P Morris each collected multiple hits for Lewis & Clark CC. Lewis & Clark CC worked the count all day, tallying five walks. Lewis & Clark CC turned two double plays in the game. Lewis & Clark CC were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. A Sauls made the most plays with eight.
Lincoln Land Loggers will travel to Heartland Hawks for their next game on Saturday.
