Seth Winkler and Will Leman's Big Day Propels the Loggers Past Millikin University

Seth Winkler collected four hits in five at bats, as Loggers defeated Millikin University 5-1 on Thursday. Winkler doubled in the first inning, singled in the sixth inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the eighth inning.
The Loggers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two sacrifice flies. The Loggers first got on the board when Andrew Hendrickson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.
Will Leman earned the win for the Loggers. The righty gave up one hit and zero runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Brody Stonecripher took the loss for Millikin University. The starting pitcher went one inning, surrendering two runs on one hit, striking out none and walking one. Conrad Charpentier threw two innings of zero-run ball for the Loggers in relief. The reliever allowed one hit, striking out four and walking one.
Payten Mugele, Hendrickson, Nolan Turner, Seth Impson, and Winkler each drove in one run for the Loggers. Ethan Hurst collected two hits for the Loggers in five at bats. Brooks Neuhoff paced the Loggers with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting nine walks for the game. The Loggers ran wild on the base paths, piling up three stolen bases for the game. The Loggers turned one double play in the game. Lincoln Land were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jack Ford had the most chances in the field with eight.
Matthew Orr went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Kyle Campbell, Trey Thompson, Bennett Comes, Nolan Reiman, and Orr each collected one hit for Millikin University.
The Loggers will travel to Lewis and Clark CC Blazers for their next game on Saturday.
