Game 1 - Bats Show Up In Loggers Win Against Illinois Central College

There were runs aplenty on Saturday, as the Loggers outshone Illinois Central College 19-10. The Loggers collected 20 hits, while Illinois Central College had 17. Ethan Hurst collected four hits in four at bats in the win. Hurst hit a home run to center field in the fifth inning, doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the eighth inning.
A ground out by Jayden Malone put Illinois Central College on the board in the top of the first. The Loggers captured the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the first when Payten Mugele hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Colbie Glenn singled, scoring one run, and Brooks Neuhoff singled, scoring two runs.
The Loggers added one run in the second. Mugele singled down the right field line, making the score 5-1. Thomas Krueger doubled to center field, which helped Illinois Central College tie the game at five in the top of the fourth.
The Loggers took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Hurst doubled down the left field line, Kaeden Bowles singled to right field, and Seth Impson singled to center field, each scoring two runs. The Loggers added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on two hits. Hurst homered to center field, scoring two runs, and Nolan Turner singled, scoring one run.
Mark Wolak earned the win for the Loggers. The pitcher allowed eight hits and six runs (five earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking four. Caleb Bieneman took the loss for Illinois Central College. The starting pitcher went four innings, surrendering 12 runs (11 earned) on 10 hits, striking out four and walking eight. Bryce Buhs and Conrad Charpentier each appeared in relief for the Loggers.
The Loggers accumulated 20 hits in the game. Bowles led the Loggers with four runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 4-for-6 on the day. Hurst, Bowles, and Seth Winkler each collected four hits for the Loggers. Mugele, Turner, and Glenn each collected multiple hits for the Loggers. The Loggers had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game. Hurst, Neuhoff, and Turner led the team with two free passes each. Game 2 - Loggers Surge Past Illinois Central College Thanks To Big Fifth Inning

The Loggers scored eight runs in the fifth inning, which helped them defeat Illinois Central College 13-3 on Saturday. Â Jack Ford singled, scoring one run, Nolan Turner doubled, scoring one run, Seth Winkler singled, scoring one run, Andrew Hendrickson singled, scoring one run, Colbie Glenn singled, scoring two runs, and Ford singled, scoring two runs.
Illinois Central College opened the scoring in the first after Jayden Malone singled, scoring one run. The Loggers took the lead in the bottom of the second. Brooks Neuhoff homered to left field, scoring three runs, to give the Loggers the edge, 3-1. Ethan Hurst hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the third for the Loggers.
Seth Impson earned the win for the Loggers. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking none. Kaiser Quick took the loss for Illinois Central College. The starter went four innings, surrendering six runs on seven hits, striking out seven and walking three. Ryan Oswald tossed one inning of scoreless ball for the Loggers in relief. The hurler surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking one.
The Loggers amassed 13 hits in the game. Neuhoff and Ford were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for the Loggers. Glenn led the Loggers with three hits in four at bats.
