Loggers Split on the Second Day of the Parkland Mid-Season Invite

    The Loggers split on day 2 of the Parkland College Mid-Season Invite losing to Madison Area Technical College 19-25, 13-25, 21-25. The Loggers struggled to put the ball away against the scrappy Wolfpack. Savannah Kaeb and Kailyn Jefferson each had 4 kills, Ella Kinkelaar, Liv Havera, and Gracie Brockett each chipped in 3, while Laynee Whitsitt and Izzy Lynch each had 2. Ella Kinkelaar put up 16 assists for the Loggers, while Kaylee Abens and Izzy Lynch each contributed 1. Izzy Lynch and Morgan Cowdrey both had 2 aces, while Kaylee Abens had 1. Ella Kinkelaar earned another double-double by picking up 11 digs, Izzy Lynch led the Loggers in digs with 12. Liv Havera earned 7 digs, Morgan Cowdrey picked up 5, Kaylee Abens had 4, and Kailyn Jefferson with 3. Gracie Brockett had 2 solo blocks, Laynee Whitsitt, Ella Kinkelaar, Savannah Kaeb, and Kailyn Jefferson each had 1 solo block.

    The Loggers picked up a win in straight sets against Kankakee Community College Cavaliers with scores of 25-20, 25-12, 25-21. Morgan Cowdrey lit up in the front row with 11 kills and 1 error, hitting an impressive .313, Gracie Brockett and Ella Kinkelaar each had 7 kills, Savannah Kaeb was right behind with 6, Harper Darr earned 3, and Liv Havera added 2 kills for the Loggers. Kinkelaar put up 28 assists this match, while Izzy Lynch contributed 4, and Morgan Cowdrey with 3. Morgan Cowdrey and Ella Kinkelaar each aced the Cavaliers twice, while Gracie Brockett earned 1 ace. The Loggers played scrappy defense earning 74 digs collectively in a 3 set match. Izzy Lynch led the Loggers with 15, Kaylee Abens right behind with 14, Harper Darr with 13, Morgan Cowdrey with 12 (earning herself another double-double), Ella Kinkelaar picked up 9 digs, and Gracie Brockett had 7 digs. Gracie Brockett was also a defensive force in the front row, earning 3 solo blocks. Savannah Kaeb and Kailyn Jefferson each had 2 solo blocks.
