Loggers Win Two Games Against Lewis and Clark

G1 - Lewis and Clark

Charlie Hayes drove in nine runs on four hits to lead the Loggers past Lewis and Clark blazers 21-2 on Saturday. Hayes hit a grand slam to center field in the fourth scoring four, singled in the second scoring two, singled in the third scoring two, and doubled in the first scoring one.

The Loggers scored 11 runs in the fourth inning on the way to victory. Maranda File singled, scoring one run, Andee Brown singled, scoring two runs, Hayes hit a grand slam to center field, Haley Willan hit a solo home run to left field, Sage Carr hit a solo home run to center field, and Brown doubled, scoring two runs. A sacrifice bunt by eve put Lewis and Clark blazers on the board in the top of the first.

The Loggers jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Hayes doubled, scoring one run, Hayes scored after tagging up, and Carr homered to center field, scoring two runs. The Loggers added two runs in the second after Hayes singled.

Four more Loggers runs crossed the plate in the third inning to extend the lead to 10-2. Bridgette Royer hit a solo home run to center field, File hit a solo home run to center field, and Hayes singled, scoring two runs.

Kaylee Yost earned the win for the Loggers. They gave up four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking five. Madilyn Fry took the loss for Lewis and Clark blazers. The right-handed pitcher went two and one-third innings, surrendering eight runs on six hits, striking out none and walking four.

The Loggers collected 16 hits in the game. Carr hit two home runs in the game. They went 2-3 with three runs scored and three runs batted in. Brown, File, Willan, and Carr each collected multiple hits for the Loggers. Sydney Glick led the Loggers with four walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, collecting eight walks for the game. The Loggers turned one double play in the game. Loggers Softball 2024 didn't commit a single error in the field. Brown had the most chances in the field with nine.

Eve and Savannah Billings were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Lewis and Clark blazers. Brylee Anderton, Whitney Weller, Kaydence Harlan, and Billings each collected one hit for Lewis and Clark blazers. Lewis and Clark blazers had patience at the plate, amassing five walks for the game. Lewis and Clark blazers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Harlan made the most plays with four.

G2 - Lewis and Clark

Haley Willan hit two home runs and drove in seven as the Loggers defeated Lewis and Clark blazers 14-9 on Saturday. Willan homered in the first and second innings. The Loggers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Willan homered to left field, scoring three runs, Kaylee Yost singled, scoring two runs, and Sydney Glick singled, scoring two runs. Willan homered to center field, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second for the Loggers.

Lewis and Clark blazers scored six runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. Kylan Arndt induced Savannah Billings to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Brylee Anderton hit a grand slam to center field, and an error scored one run.

Bailey Teasley earned the win for the Loggers. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking none. Billings took the loss for Lewis and Clark blazers. The righty went three innings, surrendering six runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking two. Alissa Sauls opened the game for Lewis and Clark blazers. The righty surrendered three hits and seven runs over one and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking five. The Loggers tallied 12 hits in the game. Leadoff hitter Glick led the Loggers with three hits in three at bats. Charlie Hayes and Andee Brown each collected multiple hits for the Loggers.

The Loggers had a strong eye at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Sage Carr and Amelia Telger led the team with two bases on balls each. The Loggers ran wild on the base paths, accumulating four stolen bases for the game.

Anderton provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Lewis and Clark blazers with five runs batted in. They went 2-for-4 on the day. Chloe Knowles, Anderton, Taylor Stelbrink, and Eve each collected two hits for Lewis and Clark blazers. Lewis and Clark blazers were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. billings made the most plays with five.

The Loggers will travel to Parkland College for their next game on Thursday 5/2.
