G1 vs Lake Land
Friday's game against Lake Land College was a heartbreaker for Loggers, as they lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat at Springfield. The game was tied at four in the top of the ninth when Moises Rosario doubled, scoring one run. The Loggers lost despite out-hitting Lake Land College nine to seven. Caleb Royer led the Loggers with three hits. A double by Drew DuPont put Lake Land College on the board in the top of the second. Royer doubled, which helped Loggers tie the game at one in the bottom of the third.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Loggers broke up the tie when Chase Jetel singled, scoring one run. Then a ground out by Andrew Randazzo followed to extend the lead to 3-1. Lake Land College tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to an error, and a walk by Rosario. The Loggers took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Wandel Campana hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, to give the Loggers the lead, 4-3. Dicky Gonzalez hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Lake Land College tie the game at four in the top of the sixth.
Will Knapp earned the win for Lake Land College. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking two. Mark Wolak took the loss for the Loggers. The righty went three innings, giving up one run (zero earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking none. Mitch Dye stepped on the hill first for the Loggers. The righty surrendered four hits and four runs (two earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking five. Kannon Walker stepped on the hill first for Lake Land College. The lefty allowed seven hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out three and walking three. Ethan Clark earned the save.
The Loggers piled up nine hits in the game. Campana, Randazzo, and Royer each drove in one run for the Loggers. Hunter Moser collected two hits for Loggers in four at bats. Grant Pohlman stole two bases. The Loggers stole three bases in the game. The Loggers turned two double plays in the game.
Rosario drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lake Land College with two runs batted in. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. lan Farrell went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Lake Land College in hits.

G2Â vs Lake Land
Bats were blistered as the Loggers took down Lake Land College 11-8 on Friday. The Loggers collected 14 hits, while Lake Land College had seven. The Loggers got on the board in the first inning after Hunter Moser singled, scoring one run. A single by Luca Mendez gave Lake Land College the lead, 2-1, in the top of the second. The Loggers flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on four hits to take a 7-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a ground out by Wandel Campana that drove in two.
Lake Land College scored one run in the top of the fourth on a solo home run to right field by Drew DuPont. Four more Loggers runs crossed the plate in the fifth inning to extend the lead to 11-5. Evan Kochel hit a solo home run to left field, Grant Pohlman singled, scoring two runs, and Caleb Royer singled, scoring one run.
Jack Wajda earned the win for the Loggers. They surrendered seven hits and five runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking two. Drake McDonald took the loss for Lake Land College. The righty went two innings, giving up two runs on three hits, striking out one and walking two. Matt Miscik collected the save. Thomas Krueger appeared in relief for the Loggers.
The Loggers tallied 14 hits in the game. Pohlman provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Loggers with three runs batted in. They went 2-for-4 on the day. Royer went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Loggers in hits. Kochel, Moser, Andrew Randazzo, and Ethan Hurst each collected multiple hits for the Loggers. The Loggers turned one double play in the game.
Mendez seized on their opportunities, leading Lake Land College with two runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day. lan Farrell, Dicky Gonzalez, DuPont, Kiefer Tarnoki, Owen Anderson, Moises Rosario, and Mendez each collected one hit for Lake Land College. Tarnoki paced Lake Land College with two walks.
Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Lake Land College turned two double plays in the game.
