Loggers outsted Heartland Community College 5-3 on Friday. The Loggers jumped out to the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Sage Carr doubled, scoring one run, Emmy Renfro hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Allie Dolenc homered to center field, scoring two runs.
Bailey Teasley earned the win for the Loggers. They surrendered six hits and three runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking one. MaKaela Salisbury took the loss for Heartland Community College. They went three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out two and walking none.
Bridgette Royer, Renfro, and Charlie Hayes each collected two hits for the Loggers. Dolenc went 1-for-4 at the plate as the shortstop led the team with two runs batted in. Concetta DeBord went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Heartland Community College in hits. Lilly Hicks and Erin Amderson each drove in one run for Heartland Community College. Heartland Community College didn't commit a single error in the field. Raeghan Morefield had the most chances in the field with nine.
The second game of the day, is postponed due to rain. The game is in the bottom of the 5th with Lincoln Land winning 5-4 with first and third and no one out. The game will reconvene when Heartland Community College comes to Lincoln Land Community College on April 12th.
