The Lincoln Land Loggers men's basketball team limped into break dropping a Friday evening contest 64-47 to Black Hawk.
In their final contest prior to the winter recess, LLCC came in winning their last two games. However, Friday quickly became a game that would not be put in the win column. Lincoln Land held one lead on the evening at 3-2 before falling behind by multiple possessions. The closest the two teams got again was near the 12:00 mark where Black Hawk still held a lead at 15-12. The Braves then put together a 15-4 run and continued to enlarge their lead to get to 40-20 at the halftime intermission.
Early second half was no better for LLCC who fell behind by as many as 29 as they struggled to put points on the board slugging their way only 27 points over the first 30:00 of play. The Loggers continued to scrap and claw their way to the end getting all the way back to within 14, but ran out of time to get any closer.
Freshmen Nate Moore was the leading scorer for Lincoln Land with a career high 14. Moore is the 8th different Logger to lead the team in scoring this season. Tonight, no other LLCC player got past 8.
Lincoln Land goes in to winter break at 2-11. Their first game of the new year is Saturday, January 4 in Canton, Illinois against Spoon River. This game will also be the first conference game of the season.
