Soccer fall to Mineral Area on the Road in Wednesday Match-Up

The Lincoln Land Loggers traveled to Park Hill, Missouri to take on the Mineral Area Dirty Birds.  The Loggers started the cloudy wet game on turf with a nice build up attack that eventually stalled out with a shot saved by the Mineral Area keeper. The Dirty Birds then started to gain the possession and could not find the back of the net themselves until a Pk was called on the Loggers for a hand ball in the box, that the Dirty Birds were able to finish.

The Dirty Birds would find the back of the net again, when a well low struck ball slipped through the Loggers keepers' hands of the wet turf. The Dirty Birds found the goal once more just before half on a corner kick header goal to end the half 3-0.

The Loggers would make some adjustments going into the second half to provide more offense and it paid off when they found the net 14 minutes in. Goal by Meyer assisted by Ela. The Dirty Birds answered that goal with one of their own on the very next play on a goal that deflective off a Logger defender.

The Dirty Birds would end the game with a 35 yard shot that went in the upper ninety corner with one minute remaining. Lincoln Land Goalie, Matthew, had 15 saves. Final score 5-1.
Loggers play at home on Monday in a Region 24 matchup against Southwest Illinois College at 4:00 pm.
