The Lincoln Land Women's Soccer team welcomed #14 St. Charles to Springfield today.
The Loggers battled with the nationally ranked Cougars for the majority of the first half. However, the Cougars were able to get inside the Logger's defensive third and played a well-placed ball to the back post for a tap in goal at the 27
th minute. The Cougars would capitalize again at the 36
th minute on a counterattack goal from 35 yards out, to make the score 2-0 where the score would remain through the end of the first half.
The Cougars opened up the second half scoring at the 50
th minute on a through ball breakaway goal to go up 3-0. The Loggers would respond at the 58
th minute with a goal of their own, when Oliva Fandel finished a freekick just outside the box to bring the Logger's back within two goals making the score 3-1. As injuries started to build, the Loggers would fall 7-1.
