The Loggers traveled to Sugar Grove, Illinois for the Waubonsee Cross Over.
The Loggers finished day one with two wins. First match against Waubonsee, Bella Powell had a career high in the 4 set win, with 25 kills, tacking on 18 digs for another double double. Emily Veach, sophomore setter assisted the team with 59 assists. Isabel Hudspeth also had a double double, with 12 kills and team high 19 digs, while Kiley Schanuel played libero and added 14 digs.
Set scores included: 25-23, 22-25, 25-19 & 25-16.
The Loggers then took on College of Lake County. The Loggers went to five sets, winning their first five set match this season. Bella Powell had another double double with 18 kills and 11 digs. Kiley Schanuel had a team high 17 digs. Set scores included: 25-21, 20-25, 25-19, 20-25 & 15-10.
Day 2
The Loggers took on Moraine Valley for their first match on day two at Waubonsee. The Loggers started off slow, dropping the first 2 sets 24-26 and 13-25.
Kenna Bixby, freshman setter, stepped up for the Loggers in set 3. After not starting the match or playing the first two sets, Bixby came up with 37 assists in the third through the fifth set, leading the Loggers to victory.Â
Sophomore outside hitters, Bella Powell and Isabel Hudspeth, led the Logger offense and defense against Moraine Valley. each earning double doubles. The dynamic duo combined had 41 kills and 36 digs. Carly Michels tallied an impressive hitting percentage of .500 with 13 kills. The Loggers took the third set 25-22 and the forth set 25-21. The Loggers ended the fifth set thriller, with an ace serve by Carly Michels, posting a final set score of 18-16.
The Loggers then turned around and took on Sauk Valley.  Â
The Loggers started off strong in the first set with a 16-8 lead, finishing set one 25-13. The Loggers offense generated 12 kills in the opening set. The Loggers followed suit taking the second set 25-14. Sophomore libero Kiley Schanuel led the Loggers floor defense with 14 digs while Carly Michels had 8 kills on 14 swings, producing a hitting percentage of .500, in back to back matches. Hannah Clayton started for the Loggers on the right pin, providing 4 kills, 8 digs and an ace while Kenna Bixby assisted a balanced offense notching 30 assists in the Loggers three set sweep.

The Loggers finish the Waubonsee Cross Over 4-0 and continue this week with conference play at home on Wednesday September 28 against John Wood Community College at 6:00 pm.
