The Loggers finished the Kirkwood Tourney 2-2.
The Loggers beat #13 McHenry in 4 sets, making that the second ranked team to fall to the Loggers in 2 days. The Loggers took the first two sets, 25-18 and 25-19. The Loggers fell to McHenry in the third 22-25 before taking the forth set 25-20, claiming the match.
Kenna Bixby got her first true start leading the Loggers with a double double, 25 assists and 11 digs, Bixby also notched 5 aces. Bella Powell and Bella Pasquino lead the offense with 14 and 10 kills. Hannah Clayton started as libero racking up an impressive 16 digs.
The second match of the day the Loggers took on host team #3 ranked Kirkwood. The Loggers fought hard to take one of the top ranked teams in the NJCAA in 5 sets. The Loggers were lead offensively by Bella Powell with 18 kills and Isabel Hudspeth with 14 kills. Both Powell and Hudspeth had double doubles with 11 and 13 digs. Kenna Bixby earned another double double with an impressive 40 assists and 11 digs. Bella Pasquino tied Hudspeth for team high in digs with 13. The Loggers fell 11-15 in the fifth set.
After a weekend in Cedar Rapids, the Loggers leave town having took down 2 ranked opponents and only the second team to take a set off the #1 ranked team in the NJCAA DII. The Loggers return to action Wednesday at Home vs. #5 Parkland at 6:00 pm.
