Logger Freshmen Meidel 1st Team All American

Lincoln Land women's basketball player Emily Meidel was named an NJCAA First Team All American.  Meidel, a freshman from Danville, lead the Mid-West Athletic Conference in both scoring and rebounding this season. Meidel average 22.2 points per game while shooting 46.3% from the 3pt line and 52.8% from the field.  She scored in double digits for the Loggers in all but one game.  She scored over 30 points three times with a season high 37 against Mineral Area College.  Meidel had eight double doubles this season while averaging 8.7 rebounds per game.  Meidel lead the nation in total points scored with 467 in just 21 games, due to a Covid shortened season. "Em is an amazing player.  She can literally do it all.  Scores at all levels, rebounds, handles it, pretty much everything." stated Logger coach Chad Jones.  "As good as she is on the floor, she is an even better person.  She deserves this and we are super proud of her. I can't wait to see her back on the floor next year."  She will be one of six sophomores returning next season to for the Loggers.

Meidel was already named the MWAC Freshman of the year, MWAC Player of the year, and Region 24 Player of the year.
