GAME ONE:
Loggers Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Jackson Community College
Loggers stole the lead late and defeated Jackson Community College 5-2 on Monday. The game was tied at two with Loggers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Todd Fowler singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Loggers opened up scoring in the second inning. Collin Elvers drove in one when he doubled.
Jackson Community College knotted the game up at two in the top of the third inning, when an error scored one run for Jackson Community College.
Spencer Walker pitched Loggers to victory. He allowed four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out five. Jake Jurgens threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen. Jurgens recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Loggers.
Foster took the loss for Jackson Community College. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out six.
Loggers had ten hits in the game. Noah Diederich, Jalen Ping, and Kyle Werries each racked up multiple hits for Loggers. Werries, Ping, and Diederich each collected two hits to lead Loggers.
Davis led Jackson Community College with two hits in three at bats.
GAME TWO:
Loggers Grabs Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Jackson Community College
Loggers took the lead late in the game in a 14-6 victory over Jackson Community College on Monday. The game was tied at six with Loggers batting in the top of the sixth when Vrooman induced Jared Viele to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.
There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Loggers collected seven hits and Jackson Community College had ten.
Loggers got things started in the first inning when Cam Furbeck grounded out, scoring one run.
Loggers put up four runs in the seventh inning. Loggers scored its runs on a single by Jake Jurgens.
Mike Dunne was credited with the victory for Loggers. He allowed nine hits and four runs over four innings, striking out five. Gavin Wahlbrink and Colin Koester entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Moran took the loss for Jackson Community College. He went two and a third innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out one.
Graham Bender, Jalen Ping, Josh Graves, Justin Beggs, Noah Diederich, Jurgens, and Furbeck each managed one hit to lead Loggers.
Jackson Community College saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Thomas, Vordorme, Nettles, and Jones all managed multiple hits for Jackson Community College.
