The Loggers trailed by as many as 17in the first half to the visiting Titans of Illinois Wesleyan's JV. Lincoln Land held a 66-60 advantage halfway through the second half, their highest of the game. Despite that lead the teams were tied with a little under 7:00 to go and traded baskets until Illinois Wesleyan scores the games last field goal with 1:19 to go in the game. The Loggers failed on their next two attempts, but came up with two defensive stands to continue to have a chance to tie the game. The Loggers got fouled with :09.7 on the clock, but missed the second free throw to find themselves trailing 77-76. After fouling an Illinois Wesleyan player, Lincoln Land rebounded the missed free throw on the front end of the Titan 1-and-1 and got the ball up to floor quickly. Despite two shots at the basket, LLCC was unable to score and fell 77-76.
Lincoln Land (4-22) had a pair lead them in scoring with 18 each: sophomore Jordan Brooks and freshmen Keon Jones. Freshmen Darius Brewington added 17. Jones finished with a double-double as he also secured 14 rebounds.
Lincoln Land will now close with four straight conference games, beginning Wednesday as they head to Danville to take on the Jaguars of Danville Area Community College.
