Softball lose two close games

GAME ONE -   Despite Strong Fight, Lincoln Land Loggers Can't Top Daytona State College

Despite a 5-run deficit in the fourth inning, Lincoln Land Loggers almost came all the way back, eventually falling 5-3 to Daytona State College on Thursday.  Lincoln Land Loggerstallied three runs in the failed comeback. Madie SimsKari Sarhage, and  Katie Weller all picked up RBIs in the rally.

Lincoln Land Loggers lost despite out-hitting Daytona State College 13 to seven. Cloee Anna Smith got the win for Daytona State College. She lasted seven innings, allowing 13 hits and three run while striking out six and walking one. Megan Behl took the loss for Lincoln Land Loggers. She surrendered five runs on five hits over three innings, walking one.

Lincoln Land Loggers tallied 13 hits.  Kaley MauerSimsBrooke Webber, and Hailey Patrickeach collected multiple hits for Lincoln Land Loggers.  Sims and Mauer each managed three hits to lead Lincoln Land Loggers.  Lincoln Land Loggers didn't commit a single error in the field. Weller had five chances in the field, the most on the team.

Daytona State College totaled seven hits.  Megan Donahue and Alexis Baker all managed multiple hits for Daytona State College. Daytona State College was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Donahue made the most plays with seven.

GAME TWO - Late Score Costs Lincoln Land Loggers Against Daytona State College

Lincoln Land Loggers lost the lead late in a 7-5 defeat to Daytona State College on Thursday. The game was tied at four with Daytona State College batting in the bottom of the fifth when Abereese Trotti singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

Lincoln Land Loggers lost despite out-hitting Daytona State College 13 to eight. Cloee Anna Smith was the winning pitcher for Daytona State College. She surrendered one run on three hits over three and a third innings, striking out three and walking zero. Kari Sarhage took the loss for Lincoln Land Loggers. She surrendered five runs on seven hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out two.

Ashley Greene started the game for Daytona State College. She allowed ten hits and four runs over three and a third innings, striking out one and walking zero Jacey Nall started the game for Lincoln Land Loggers. She went two and a third innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out one

Lincoln Land Loggers launched one home run on the day. Katie Weller went for the long ball in the sixth inning.

Lincoln Land Loggers tallied 13 hits on the day.  Shaye VirginWellerKaley MauerAbigail Walters, and Courtney Keller all managed multiple hits for Lincoln Land Loggers.  Virgin went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Lincoln Land Loggers in hits.

Daytona State College totaled eight hits.  Margan Arcia and Zoie Hatley each managed multiple hits for Daytona State College.
