Lincoln Land lost two to the Raiders from Seminole State, 6-2 and 10-1. The Loggers were unable to produce the offense necessary to pull a win.
Freshman Addison Bryant got the start in game one and went 5 complete innings, scattering 9 hits, 2 Ks with no walks. Tessa Beckham relieved Bryant for one inning.
Katie McLean was the only multiple hitter in game one. McLean, 3-for-3, 2 runs scored and 1 RBI, led off the game with a double to center field, followed by solo home run in the third inning and a double in the sixth. Katelyn Presley singled in McLean to put the Loggers up one at the end of one inning of play. The Raiders came back in the 2
nd inning and scored two runs, followed with 3 runs in the third and a final run ing the 5
th. Kelsi Smith and Aimee Oglesby homered for the Raiders.
Sophomore Madison Routh started game two and completed 3 innings, giving up 7 runs on 9 hits. Kari Sarhage relieved Routh for one inning as the game ended in the shortened 8 run rule format, 10-1.
The Loggers could only manage 4 hits in game two. "Kiana East (Raiders) had our hitters off balance and we didn't get could pitches to hit," stated Coach Marsaglia. "This is a great learning experience and I'm confident the hits will come."
