Loggers Win Two against Spoon River College, 8-0 and 2-1 (tie breaker)

Clean had multiple hits in the Logger victories
Good pitching, good defense and great hitting wins ball games.  LLCC had 13 hits in game one to win 8-0 in 6 innings of play (8 run rule).  Addison Bryant (2-2) was the winning pitcher for the Loggers as she shut out Spoon River allowing only 3 hits.
Katelyn Presley ended game one with a walk off solo homerun to left field in the bottom of the 6th inning.  Katie McLean was 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs.  Designated hitter Madie Sims went 3-for-3 and scored 3 runs. Ashton Dyche was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sophomore catcher Lexy Koester had a very good day at the plate in game one, going 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs.
It was a pitching battle in game two that took 8 innings to decide a winner.  Spoon River started with a runner at 2nd base who advanced to third on a dropped fly ball to right field.  Kaitlyn Harkey (SRC) popped up to first base for the first out. Jurnee Adams (SRC) lined out to Katie McLean for the second out and cut down the lead run at the plate on a perfect throw to end the inning.

LLCC won game two in the 8th inning (tie breaker) on a 1 out base hit by Katie McLean for the win 2-1.  Nicole Robinson started at 2nd base followed by a well-executed sacrifice bunt by Logger leftfielder Kaley Maurer.  McLean's single up the middle produced the 2nd walk off win of the day.

Tess Beckham claimed the win in game two.  Beckham, now 3-2, gave up 1 run on 5 hits, with 7 Ks and 6 walks.  "Tess (Beckham) showed a great deal of courage and persistence in the win," stated Coach John Marsaglia.  The home plate umpire (although consistent both ways) was not giving her the inside corner, but she managed to shut down Spoon River attempts to score."   LLCC and Spoon River could only produce 5 hits for each side.  "I was very pleased with our defense and especially the pitching today."

Katie McLean and Katelyn Presley were the only multiple hit batters with two each for the Loggers.
The Loggers are now 8-10 on the year with a 6 game win streak (4-0 MWAC).
