#15 LLCC defeats Illinois Central 25-20, 25-13, 30-28

LLCC swept Illinois Central at Cass Gym for the team's 20^th win.  It is the 16^th consecutive season Lincoln Land has reached the 20-win mark.  

The Loggers came out slow with 3 unforced errors and a quick 3-6 deficit.  LLCC caught up with a solo block by Erika Miller and another by Olivia Dour, tying the set at 14.  Lincoln Land broke the set open behind three consecutive Molly Tauke kills, holding on to win on a Cougar net violation.

In the second set, LLCC came out fast behind a Lainey Jackson ace and kills from Erika Miller to push the score to 8-2.  Maree Taig followed with two more kill and a block to open the match to a 12-point margin to 18-6, keeping that and winning on a Tauke kill of an overpass to win 25-13.

The final set was a see-saw affair with neither team able to build more than a two-point lead.  Both teams had runs of errors and hitting with Kiley Brunstein fending off set point twice before Lainey Jackson pushed a two-hand tip to the deep corner for a 30-28 victory.

"We played well all match.  It's good to get the 20^th win and know where our seed is for the post-season.  I think the middle set should be ignored.  We caught ICC in a bad spot.  That third set, that's what you expect when we play them," Coach Dietz said afterwards.
