In the morning's first match, the Loggers let a match slip away, losing in five to ninth-ranked Central Nebraska. The Loggers went out to a fast start in game one, building a 16-10 lead behind the serving of Kaylee Beekman before a series of hitting errors and two passing miscommunications allowed Central to go from a 21-23 deficit to a 25-23 win that proved costly to LLCC as it would mea later the match went on to five sets. The remaining four sets alternated with their victors, with Central capitalizing on a run of five Logger mistakes starting the decisive final set to build a 6-1 lead and trade sideouts the rest of the way.
"Too many errors. Too, too many. It was frustrating to coach because they were all mental errors--we didn't follow balls to the line, we double-hit balls we had no business trying to set. We gave away nineteen points on net calls, ball-handling ones, and balls dropping with us watching. Against a top ten team, you are asking for trouble--and that's what we got. If there's a bright side, it's that we were able to go five with the ninth-ranked team in the country when we playing so poorly.
