The Loggers trailing by one game in the conference race came out big in game one to win 10-3 only to lose game two 10-11 in 8 innings tie breaker.
Morgan Heckman 2 HRs
The Loggers scored 6 runs in the first inning against the Cobras in game one. Katie Mclean led off with a hit followed by Kelsie Allen to put two runners on base. Morgan Heckman hit a 3 RBI home run followed by a solo home run by Ashton Dyche. Katelyn Presley, Whitney David and Gracie Schweighart reached base safely followed by a 3 RBI double from Katie Mclean. The Cobras answered with 2 run home run by sophomore Sophie Caitlin. Winning pitcher Brittany Roady held the strong hitting Cobras to only one more run in the 5th. Roady (4-5) went the whole 7 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 7 hits with 7 Ks.  McLean was 2-for-3 with a double and 3 RBIs. Kelsie Allen went 3-for-4 with 1 RBI and Ashton Dyche and Whitney David were also 2-for-4 with a homer each.Â
Game two was a battle of bats and four score lead changes. LLCC scored 2 runs in the first on a two run homer by Morgan Heckman. The Cobras answered with a run in the bottom half. The Cobras then scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 3rd to take the lead 7-2. The Loggers scored 8 more runs to lead 10-7. Bri Graham relieved starter Jordan Kraft and held Parkland scoreless until the bottom of the 7th when Bridgett Belt went long to tie the game 10-10 that forced an international tie breaker. LLCC left two runners on in the 8th but failed to score. The Cobras scored the winning run on a single by Lauren Spelich.
McLean, Heckman and Presley (HR) had 2 hits each in game two.
The Loggers are now 27-19 on the year and 16-8 in the MWAC. The Loggers will travel to Illinois Central College on Thurday and the a four game set with Lewis & Clark.
