Lincoln Land softball loss double header to DI Seminole State, 4-3 and 6-0 today in Sanford, Florida.
Seminole State scored 2 runs in the first inning and 2 more in the 5th.  Bri Graham, (1-1) went the distance and picked up the loss for the Loggers. All four runs allowed were earned as Graham gave up 8 hits on 4 Ks and 2 walks. Coach John Marsaglia commented, "I was especially excited with Bri's pitching performance today. She showed great composure and determination."  LLCC came back after being down 4-1 going into the 6th inning and answered with 2 runs to be within 1 run in the 7th. Whitney David got the first Logger hit with a solo home run to left in the 5th. LLCC never gave up and got the tying and go ahead runners on base in the 7th, but were unable were unable to score.
Game two, Seminole State again jumped out to quick lead against the Loggers. The Raiders scored another run in the third and 3 more in the 5th off of starter Brittany Roady (0-1). Roady went 4 innings and was relieved by Madison Routh in the 5th inning. All 6 runs scored were credited to Roady. "I was very pleased with Brittany's performance today. She missed a couple locations that produced big hits, but over all, she was throwing as well as I have seen since becoming a Logger.
The Loggers hit better in game two as they collected 8 hits. "We struggled all day with leaving runners on base. I know it is early, but we have to a better job of putting the ball in play with 2 strikes...too many called strike threes." The Loggers left 11 runners on base in game two. Katie McLean was 3 for 4 with Ashton Dyche and Megan Aubuchon both going 2 for 4.
LLCC will continue their Florida trip as they head to Gainesville to take on Santa Fe State College (game time start changed to 12:30 pm).
