Softball split with Heartland at home today, losing game one 7-5 and winning the nightcap 13-7.

Heartland out hit the Loggers 9-8 but the difference was the home runs. The Hawks had two big innings, scoring 3 runs in the 2nd inning and 4 in the 6th. Lincoln Land led 4-3 after 5 innings. LLCC was unable to answer in the bottom of the 7th after scoring 1 run in the 6th. Jordan Kraft got the loss with all 7 runs earned. Kraft is now 2-4 on the year.  Katie McLean was 3-for-4 that included a double. Kelsie Allen and Morgan Heckman both had two hits.Â
Loggers came back in game 2 as they produced 13 runs on 17 hits including a home run by Whitney David in the 6th. The Loggers big inning was in the third as they scored 6 runs on 7 hits. Bri Graham was the winning pitcher for the Loggers. The Logger offense was led by Katie McLean who had 3 hits and 3 RBIs. Maggie Comerford was 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs along with Madison Routh who went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Katelyn Presley and Whitney David also had 2 hits and 2 RBIs each. Ashton Dyche was 2-for-3 and scoring 2 runs.
"We hit the ball very well today," said Coach John Marsaglia. "We actually hit the ball in both games, the difference in game two was we got the hits to produce runs."Â
The Loggers are now 9-14 on the season and 4-4 in the MWAC. Â
