Lincoln Land came out to start the game playing fairly well. Neither team was able to score on their first few possessions as scoring got off to a slow start. A little short of half way through the first half Lincoln Land found themselves up 16-7 and forced a Parkland timeout. The Cobras slowly chipped away and were able to take their first lead since 3-0 right before the half. Lincoln Land went in to the halftime break trailing 31-27, but the Loggers still felt in a good place.

The Loggers typically start games slowly, however tonight they came out of the second half start flat. Lincoln Land scored on their second possession of the second half which put the score at 34-29. Over the next eight plus minutes Lincoln Land failed to score and watched Parkland go on a 18-0 scoring run that put the Loggers down 23. From there on the Loggers never got closer than 15 and found themselves down as many as 26, until it settled on the final deficit of 20 as the game ended 75-54.

"I feel like we played with great energy and emotion early. We held them to two scores in their first 15 possessions and were playing really well, but they were able to creep back in and take the lead right before half and I felt like our guys lost all that energy. We came out in the second half and missed open shots, couldn't stop them, and I felt like we gave up a bit," Chad Jones spoke after the game.

Only six Loggers scored on the evening. Freshman were responsible for 35 of the 55 points for Lincoln Land. Freshman D'Aaron Owens tied for the game high with 16. Freshman Jerrid Cosby was the only other Logger in double digits with 10.

Lincoln Land is now 14-8 on the season and 1-4 in the MWAC. They will take on Region opponent Rend Lake at home on Monday before finishing up with the second round of conference play.
