LLCC lost its first two matches to two national powers on Friday at Parkland, facing both without the services of normal Opposite/Setter Kiersten Anderson as well as Middle Sydney Jarrard. It meant that LLCC used four different lineups during the day, including Sarah Mueller's first time playing front row in college. Coach Dietz noted, "I think she liked it." Once again the Loggers had leads in games two and three of the contests but couldn't hold on to them. "We're inconsistent with some things, mainly communication, and when that happens, we make silly errors. Today, it was our serving. We want aggressive serves, tough serves, but we put more than 10% of our serves in the net and that's just unacceptable. It won't beat people, especially when we missed another ten serves on top of those." Seven of the missed serves against Kirkwood came in Game Two where the Loggers lost 29-27, having run out of subs and forcing back row players into front row duty.
"I'm not happy," Coach Dietz continued, "Because these are our mistakes, because we're losing because of them, but if we're committed and play as a team, work together, all of these things could be fixed in a matter of days. That'll be our goal between now and our home tourney on October 7."
