LLCC defeated Millikin's JV in three on Friday afternoon in Cass Gym to go to 5-0 on the season.  Millikin filled in at the last minute for Kishwaukee Community College who cancelled their program for the second time in three seasons.  The Loggers were led by Sabria Phillips who had 31 assists and Sydney Jarrard and Summer Sabo who combined for 15 kills out of the middle.  "I was pleased with Sabria and her choices.  We've been working on slides and quick back attacks to our middles and we ran that successfully the whole match.  I think that was also a credit to the passing in our back row, especially Andie Sobotka, Coach Dietz."  Sobotka, a freshman from Bartlett, finished with 12 digs and 2 aces in the match.

LLCC came out on fire in the final match of Day One of the LLCC Invitational defeating visiting D-1 Lake Land 25-10, 25-10 in the first two

sets before winning game three 25-23.  Game one started with a service run by Izzy Carroll to  push the game to a 7-2 lead, followed by multiple kills from Kaley Hennings and Brea Cunningham to stretch the lead to 14-3.  Back row hustle from several Loggers led to more points and a big victory.  Game two was about the blocking of Brea Cunningham who tallied four of her match-high six in the game.  "Our setting choices in the first two games were great," Jim Dietz observed.  "It didn't leave Lake Land many options on how to play defense….our intensity even shocked me a bit."  It didn't last though and LLCC fell into a hole in game three, trailing 10-15 and 17-22 before mounting a comeback highlighted by a bang-bang defensive play at 20-22 which left four players sprawled on the floor, but the ball hitting on the Lakers' side of the net.  "We don't really give up on anything, but the comebacks are taking a toll on how much hair I have and its color," Dietz laughed.
