Logger Bats Explode to Defeat Heartland 10-2 and 9-0

LLCC softball exploded offensively to defeat Heartland 10-2 in game one and 9-0 in the night cap.  The Loggers had 11 hits in game one and 14 in game two.  "I was very glad to see the girls come back today and hit like they are capable of doing," said coach John Marsaglia.   "We had two very strong pitching performances today and we played great defensively."  Bri Graham was the winning pitcher in game one.  She allowed 2 runs, neither were earned.   She kept a very good hitting Heartland team on the bases and in the park.  Graham is now 5-3 on the year

Lauren Ohnesorge 5-for-6
"Offensively, we were in control," reflected coach Marsaglia.  "We scored in every inning of play today, and that's what it takes to win in this league."  Courtney Reeves hit a three run home run in the 4th inning of game one.  LLCC scored 6 runs in that 4th inning to put the game out of reach.  Megan Ballegeer and Lauren Ohnesorge collected multiple hits in game one.  Ballegeer, 2-for-3 and Ohnesorge was 2-for-3 with back to back triples.  Cindy Garces had a two double with 2 RBI's in the first inning.  Miranda Esperum added to the big 4th inning with a  two out double and 2 RBIs

The toughest game to win is the second game of a double after making the other team mad, but the Loggers continued to score in every inning to win game two, 9-0.  Morgan Mansur got the win as she battled back after a tough loss yesterday losing 2-1 in a walk off 7th.  "Morgan was on point again today as she allowed only three hits," commented coach Marsaglia. "Heartland is tough team to keep off the bases.  Mansur did a great job against the 5th ranked hitting Heartland Hawks,"

LLCC collected 14 hits in game two.  Courtney Reeves (2-for-2, 2 RBIs) hit her 2nd home run of the day, a solo dinger in the 3rd inning.  Morgan Heckman hit her 3rd home run of the year as she hit a 3 run home run in the 4th inning to left field.  Lauren Ohnesorge kept her hot bat going as she went 3-for-3 with a double and 1 RBI.  Mirdanda Esperum was again 2-for-3 with an RBI along with Megan Ballegeer who also went 2-for-3 with an RBI.  "Key to our success today was that we had hitting up and down our line up," stated Marsaglia.  "We bunched hits and scored every inning.  I'm very proud of the way we played  today."
