The Lincoln Land Logger baseball team dropped to (4-4) on the season with a 13-12 loss against the Southeastern University Fire. Starting catcher Baylee Waters singled in the winning run for the Fire in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded and 2 outs. Sophomore left handed pitcher Tyler Borski suffered the loss allowing that only run in his 2 2/3 innings of relief. The Logger pitching staff allowed the 13 total runs on 17 hits and 7 walks.
"We simply have to pitch better," head coach Ron Riggle said after the game. "I'm disappointed as a whole in our team pitching performance so far this season, but I am confident that we will make the adjustments needed to improve."
The Logger offense had another solid day at the plate, scoring their 12 runs on 13 hits. Conor White continued to swing it well going 2 for 4 with a double and belting his first home run of the season. Ben Hecht was 2 for 5 with a double, triple and 3 RBIs. Jake Morsch, Michael Ryan, and Matt Sekardi all added 2 hits apiece.
The Loggers will play a Central Florida State College tomorrow at 3:00.
