LLCC Softball ends their Florida trip losing to Pasco Hernando 2-4 and winning the nightcap 8-5 in 8 innings. LLCC put the ball in play today but could only produce 2 runs and 5 hits. Courtney Reeves was the only Logger to have multiple hits (2-for-3). Reeves drove in Anna Walschleger in the first inning on a base hit to right. LLCC scored their only other run in the 4th inning after Reeves singled to center and then stole second. Morgan Heckman moved Reeves to 3rd on a grounder to short. Jessica Hunt then hit a sacrifice fly to left to score Reeves from 3rd. Jordan Kraft (1-3) was the losing pitcher for the Loggers. Kraft went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs (3 earned) on 9 hits and 2 strikeouts.
"We are finally swinging the bat like they did in the fall," said Coach John Marsaglia. "All day we were making good contact. We had 9 hits in game two and 5 RBIs and several hard hit balls to the outfield." LLCC scored 2 runs in the 1st inning as Anna Walschleger and Madison Ohnesorge had back to back hits. Anna Walschleger, Madison Ohnesorge and Courtney Reeves were multiple hitters with 2 each. The Loggers scored 1 run in the 3rd and 6th innings on a solo homerun by Courtney Reeves (2-for-3). Leading 5-3 going into the bottom of the 7th, Pasco Hernando tied the game to send it into the international tie-breaker. LLCC scored 3 runs in the 8th to take the lead 8-5. Morgan Mansur picked up the win in relief. Bri Graham started the game and went 6 innings allowing 5 runs (3 earned) on 8 hits and 3 strikeouts. Mansur went 2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits.
LLCC will return home to start conference play with Lincoln College at Lincoln, Illinois (1 pm).
