#3-seed LLCC defeats 14-seed Longview 25-19, 25-19, 22-25, 25-21
 

LLCC advanced to the Elite Eight with a victory over MCC-Longview in the very first match of the NJCAA D-II championships.  The Loggers were led by Talesha Scott, who pounded 24 kills, tying (again) her school record for kills in a match and leaving her 12 short of the single-season record (set in 2015 by Tiffany Sunderlin).  Scott was helped by great blocking from Summer Sabo and Brea Cunningham who combined for eleven blocks.  The Loggers though were plagued by unforced errors throughout the math, permitting Longview to stay close and take game three from LLCC.
 
"A lot of unforced errors on our part, a lot," Coach Dietz said.  "Longview plays disciplined volleyball; they only missed one serve for the match, so they count on opponents to help them out.  We did that most of the contest.  I think Longview deserves a lot of credit--and it's why we didn't scout them.  I knew if we watched them from film at the start of the season, we'd be surprised by how much they've improved.  I liked their balance and aggressiveness on the court, but I also like the fact we came out on top and get to move on."
