Lincoln Land softball extends win streak to 13 games (14-8) as they defeat Lewis & Clark 7-2 and 11-0 in a double-header in Godfrey, Illinois. Game one sophomore pitcher Sadie Mosher picked the win (5-3) as she went the distance allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits and 6 strikeouts.
LLCC produced 7 runs on 12 hits. Megan Ballegeer, Courtney Reeves, Rachel Hastings, Miranda Esperum and Cindy Garces each had two hits in the win.
The Loggers started slow offensively but broke the game open in the 5th inning scoring 8 of their 11 runs on 7 hits. Megan Ballegeer was 2-for-4, along with Rachel Hastings, Rachel Wisner and Jackie Hoffmeier who were each 2-for-3. Wisner had a triple and 3 RBIs. Alex Hamm had a sacrifice fly and base hit to collect 3 RBIs.
Hayley Long (5-3) pitched a 5 inning shutout while allowing just 2 hits and striking out 6 Blazer hitters.
Lincoln Land will face Lewis & Clark tomorrow in a double-header starting at 1 pm.
