The first half was not pretty for either side. Lincoln Land struggled out of the gate and trailed by a game high 15 points after the first 17 minutes. The Loggers cut the lead down to 9, but as time wound down, Parkland was able to recover a loose ball and knock in a three as the first half buzzer sounded to lead at the break 36-24.

Lincoln Land came out in the second half with a fire. Their first three field goals were threes and in a matter of a few minutes the lead had been cut all the way down to 5. For the next ten minutes of play, the game remained close as the teams traded baskets. Lincoln Land fought their way all the way back to a 52-50 ball game with 5 minutes remaining. Lincoln Land slowly ran out of gas down the stretch and Parkland was able to pull away. Parkland iced the game away from the free throw line and those free throws mixed with some missed shots by Lincoln Land allowed Parkland to win by the eventual total of 11.

From a statistical stand point Lincoln Land held their own against the Cobras. Lincoln Land outshot Parkland from the field and from behind the arc as LLCC shot one of their best outputs from three (8/16,50%). Parkland slimly outrebounded the Loggers at 36-34. The two categories that doomed Lincoln Land were turnovers, where they committed 12 to Parkland's 4, and Parkland scored 20 out of 24 free throws, where Lincoln Land was only able to convert on 9 of 14 and missed on some crucial 1 and 1s late in the game.

Lincoln Land was led in scoring by freshman Eddie Longmeyer with 16. He was joined in double digits by sophomores Michael Cameron and Justin Thomas who each chipped in 11. Longmeyer and Sophomores Corey Evak and Payton Dugan pulled down a team high 5 rebounds.

"Tonight proved the team we can become. We took one of the best teams in the conference down to the wire. We have made strides of improvement every game and if we continue that we can win some important ball games down the stretch. Tonight was frustrating because we made some foolish mistakes that cost us and we proved when we played with some fire that we are a tough team to beat." Coach Chad Jones following the game.

Lincoln Land heads on the road to take on John Wood Community College in Quincy on Saturday.
