MBB Fall Short in Loss to Parkland, 61-50

Lincoln Land traveled to Champaign to take on the Cobras of Parkland and fell 61-50.
 
The Loggers were able to stay close through out the game but were unable to get over the hump to take the lead. Parkland held a small 27-23 lead at the end of the first half. Parkland to slowly build their lead in the second half on poor shooting and tired legs. Lincoln Land made one last run and cut the deficit to 6, but were unable to cut it any closer. A few buckets by both teams and free throws at the end for the Cobras pushed the final score out to 61-50.
 
Lincoln Land had only one scorer in double digits for the game, freshman Eddie Longmeyer led all scorers with 19. Sophomore Corey Evak pulled down a game high 8 rebounds and sophomore Jake Stombaugh finished with 7.

Lincoln Land was able to out rebound Parkland 38-33, but turned the ball over 4 more times and were outshot, making 7 less shots from the field.
 
"I'm disappointed we lost tonight, but we did some good things. We played solid team defense and if we are able to knock in a few more shots we could have had a chance to win. We need to clean up silly mistakes and we are right there," reflected Coach Chad Jones following the loss.
 
Lincoln Land falls to 14-15 on the season and 0-9 in the conference. The Loggers finish regular season play at home on Saturday against John Wood
