MBB Win Home Opener 96-40 Over Hannibal LaGrange JV

The Lincoln Land men's basketball team was itching to kick off the season and finally got that chance at home on Tuesday against Hannibal LaGrange's JV running away with a 96-40 victory.

The Loggers had the benefit of balanced scoring with four players in double figures, led by Sophomore Eddie Longmeyer who had 16 to lead all scorers. He was joined in double digits by Freshman Harold Robertson who was 4/6 from behind the arc on his way to 14 points, sophomore Marshall Corbin with 12, and freshman Jacob Knox, who also had a game high 6 rebounds, also chipped in 12. Longmeyer had a balanced game dishing out 8 assists and tallying 5 steals.
 
The Loggers dominated the game in all aspects. Lincoln Land shot 59.3% from the field, 53% from 3 point range, and outrebounded the Trojans by 19 (42-23). Lincoln Land also benefited from 12 steals and causing 25 turnovers.
 
"It was great to get out there and finally play against someone else. We have been waiting for this day for a while. We had some high points, but also some things we can work on moving forward. We will face a test on Friday against Elgin Community College that we will need to improve on some of our mistakes," commented Head Coach Chad Jones following the victory.

Lincoln Land heads to Chicago to take part in the Harry S. Truman Community College this weekend. They will play Elgin Community College on Friday evening and the host Truman Community College on Saturday.
 
Lincoln Land is 1-0 on the year.
