Lincoln Land Community College softball swept Illinois Benedictine JV, 9-1 and 13-2 today at LLCC. Katie Price was 4-for-4 in game one and Torey Sorensen was 3-for-4 with a double, triple and a solo home run. Laura Bonds and Kayla Jacobs added two hit each to help lead the Loggers to victory. Claire Dubree (5-1) was the winning pitcher for the Loggers going 3 innings with no hits and 2 strike outs. Hayley Long relieved Dubree in the 4
th inning, allowing 1 unearned run on no hits and striking out 3.
LLCC had a big 3rd inning scoring 6 runs and another 4 runs in the bottom of the 4
th to defeat Benedictine 13-2. Winning pitcher for the Loggers was Katie Lange. Lang threw the first 3 innings giving up just 1 hit and no runs. Lindsay Floyd pitched the 4 inning and gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. Sophomore pitcher Jaimey Watrous pitched the last inning allowing no hits or runs. Tri-City High School graduates Katie Price and Stephanie Watkins led the Loggers offensively. Price was 3-for-3 and scored 4 times. Watkins was 2-for-3 with 5 RBIs including a grand slam homer in the 3
rd inning. Lindsay Floyd went 2-for-2 including a solo homerun in the 4
th inning. Jaimey Watrous and Lauren Windisch each contributed with 2 hits each.
LLCC is now 31-6 and will be at home tomorrow to take on conference foe Spoon River. Tomorrow's MWAC games will start at 3 pm.
