LLCC softball came out a little flat in game one against John Wood and managed to only muster 3 hits against Blazer pitcher Julie Schultz. The Loggers picked up their 9th loss on the season losing to John Wood 5-2. Hayley Long (5-3) was the losing pitcher for LLCC. Long gave up 5 runs on 10 hits with 7 strikeouts. Lauren Windisch led the Loggers in hitting with 2 hits. "They made every tough play on balls that were hard hit. We had our chances to score more but we couldn't finish the job, " stated Coach John Marsaglia.
Game two the Loggers came back to revenge the lack of hitting performance in the first game, scoring 14 runs on 14 hits to defeat John Wood 14-2. Sadie Mosher (W, 6-2) allowed 2 runs on 4 hits and struck out 5 Blazer hitters. The Loggers scored 1 run in the first inning and 1 in the second. With one out in the 3rd inning the Loggers scored 5 runs on 5 hits to take the lead 5-2. LLCC scored 2 more in the 4th inning and held scoreless in the 5th only to answer the bell by scoring 5 more runs in the top of the 6th. This was enough for Mosher to hold the Blazers scoreless and to end the game by the 8 run rule. Kayla Jacobs led the Loggers offensively going 3-for-5 with 4 RBIs, including a triple in the 6th. Lauren Windisch, Rachel Hastings, Torey Sorensen and Lindsay Floyd each collected 2 hits apiece in the win. Coach Marsaglia reflected after the game, "I was proud the way they came back in game two. We attacked the ball at the plate and we were disciplined as well. Mosher threw a very good game as did Long in the previous loss, the difference was we supported her with runs in the second."
