ICC sweep the Loggers 12-2 and 10-4

The Cougars of ICC devoured the Loggers, sweeping them 12-2 and 10-4 in a Region XXIV matchup at LLCC.  The Cougars out hit the Loggers 11 hits to 6 for the Loggers. ICC winning pitcher allowed 2 runs (1 earned) and keeping the Logger hitters to no multiple hitters.  LLCC left 10 runners on base in the first game loss.  Freshman pitcher Sadie Mosher allowed 12 runs but only 4 were earned. Melinda Wilson was the only LLCC hitter with an extra base hit (double in the 4th inning).

The Loggers matched the Cougars with each team collecting 11 hits in game two. Rachel Hastings went 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs in game two to lead the Loggers offensively.  Lauren Windisch and Lindsay Floyd were both 2-for-4.  Windisch had a leadoff triple and Hastings and Floyd each had a double.  Claire Dubree received the loss, allowing 10 runs (2 earned) on 11 hits.  LLCC made 7 errors in game two.

Coach Marsaglia said, "You have not make mistakes if you want to beat good region teams."  He added, "The bats were not as productive as they have been in the past…we need to do a better job of driving in runners."  LLCC had 10 LOBs in game one and 11 in game two.

Lincoln Land Community College is now 33-8 and they travel to Danville tomorrow in a MWAC matchup.
