The Logger softball team swept South Florida State 9-6 and 7-1. LLCC banged our 9 runs on 15 hits in game one. The Loggers had 5 players with multiple hits. Third baseman Rachel Wisner led the Loggers in hitting going 3-for-4 with 2 RBIs. Payton Billups was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs (HR). Torey Sorensen, Kayla Jacobs and Lauren Windisch each had 2 hits apiece. Whitley Baker picked up the win and Morgan Smith added a save.
LLCC and South Florida battled 1-1 through the first five innings before the Loggers exploded with a 4 run inning in the 6
th. LLCC added two more insurance runs in the 7
th inning. Freshman pitcher Sadie Mosher allowed only 1 run in 6 innings of work. The only run for South Florida was a solo home run in the first inning. Mosher allowed only 4 hits, and 2 walks and 4 Ks. Morgan Smith finished the 7th inning for LLCC.
Billups again led the Loggers going 2-for-4 with her second home run of the day and 4 RBIs. Laura Bonds and Rachel Hastings added two hits each in the second win.
