Lady Loggers improve their record to 20-3 by defeating John Wood 3-1 and 9-1 in their first conference matchup. John Wood scored first but LLCC came back in the third inning to take the lead 2-1. Whitley Baker (4-0) allowed only one run in the win. Baker went all 7 innings, allowing 7 hits and striking out 3 batters. The Loggers scored an insurance run in the 6
th inning on a sacrifice fly by Laura Bonds (Melinda Wilson scored).
The Loggers won game two 9-1. LLCC produced 14 hits power past JWCC including 3 home runs. The Loggers scored 7 runs on 7 hits in the third inning. Melinda Wilson was 3-for-3 with 1 RBI. Torey Sorensen, Stephanie Watkins and Payton Billups hit homers for the Lady Loggers. Laura Bonds was also 3-for-3 with an RBI. Sophomore catcher, Stephanie Watkins went 2-for-3 with her second homer for the year. Former Williamsville High School pitcher Hayley Long picked up the win. Long pitched 6 innings (8 run rule) to hold JWCC to one run on 6 hits, and three strike outs.
