Lincoln Land got a huge 61-53 conference road win against Danville Area Community College.
The Danville Area Jaguars came to Cass Gymnasium earlier in the season and came out victorious and the Loggers were able to return the favor. Tonight's game started slow with neither team shooting particularly well in the first half. After the first period Lincoln Land held a 22-12 lead.
Scoring picked up in the second half as both teams were able to take advantage on the offensive end. On the way to victory Lincoln Land led by as many as 15. After two Jaguars free throws the lead was cut down to 5 with 1:18 left. The Loggers were able to hold strong and pushed the lead back out and when the final buzzer sounded the Loggers were on top 61-53. Lincoln Land made it more difficult for them as they turned the ball over at some important times.
After the game Coach Jones commented, "This is a big win both for standings and for our mentality. We have had leads late in games all season and have struggled to close. Hopefully this win helps us get over the hump. We still need to take better care of the ball, but I'm proud of the effort from our guys tonight"
Logger Marcus Graham led all scorers with 25. Kendall Davis added 15 off the bench.
