The Lincoln Land Community College Men's Basketball kicked off their home schedule tonight against Hannibal-LaGrange JV.  LLCC and came out victorious, winning 62-42. The Loggers have struggled early in the game thus far this season and tonight was no different. The Trojans scored the first basket, but that was Hannibal – LaGrange's only lead. Lincoln Land came out sluggish shooting only 26% in the first half. Freshman Justin Thomas provided a spark after he got a steal and a buzzer beating three to put the Loggers on top 22-13 going in to half.
 
The Trojans came out of halftime firing, hitting threes on their first three possessions, but after that the Loggers responded. LLCC slowly added to their lead pushing it out to as high as 24 points, and as the final horn sounded the Loggers had won 62-42. The Loggers had two freshman in double figures led by Dino Mehmodovic who scored 15 points, he also pulled down a game high 6 rebounds, and was joined by Eddie Longmeyer who had 13 points. LLCC struggled from the floor all night shooting only 39% from the field and 25% from behind the arc and also committed 12 turnovers. The Loggers were able to collect 15 steals and outrebound the Trojans 39-31 which helped lead them to victory.
 
"We continue to struggle early on and that is something we have to figure out. We can't continue to come out of the gate slow or we will be out of games before we get a chance. So far we have been able to figure things out well enough to win, but we are going to have to keep getting better down the road," stated Coach Chad Jones following the win.
 
Lincoln Land will face a stiff test Saturday as they travel to Harrisburg to take on NJCAA Division 1 Southeastern Illinois College.
