LLCC avenged a controversial early-season five-set loss to Lake Land College with a three game sweep to start Saturday, following with a sweep of Region XXIV D-2 foe Lincoln Trail to go 3-0 for the weekend.
 
In game one against Lake Land, the two teams traded sideouts until it was 15-15 before LLCC was able to break away, featuring a Claire Reinthaler ace and a key block byTaylor Wienke and Samantha Voils that led to a 25-20 victory.  Game two saw LLCC streak to an early 9-1 lead behind the kills of Tiffany Sunderlin, continued by Brittani Tabbert when Sunderlin moved to the back (the two combined for 20 kills on the match).
 
Game three saw LLCC take an early lead, and then the two sides traded sideouts until LLCC finished with a 25-20 victory.
 
Playing immediately after, LLCC defeated Lincoln Trail in straight sets, an expected victory against a new program.
 
"We played well against Lake Land--we hit well, made good choices, and had few unforced errors.  It was a solid team effort.  I was more concerned against Trail--I wanted us to be able to focus and challenged the girls to not miss any serves for the match--and instead we whiffed on ten of them.  That won't work this next week, since we are at the point of the season where a loss eliminates us now from the post-season."
