LLCC Loggers fell to Heartland Hawks 8-0 in game one of a double header in Springfield. The Hawks scored 6 runs in 4
th inning to put the game away. Claire Dubree was the losing pitcher. Dubree went 3 1/3 innings allowing 6 runs (5 earned) on 6 hits and 2 strikeouts. Morgan Smith finished the shortened rule run game, going 1 2/3 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits and 4 strike outs. Lauren Windisch had 3 of 4 hits as she went 3-for-3.
The Loggers lose game two 12-6. Heartland had 17 hits to 9 hits for the Loggers. Laura Bonds, Lauren Windisch and Payton Billups had two hits each in the loss. Heartland scored 8 runs in the second inning on 8 hits and 3 errors. Starting pitcher Katie Lange went 2 innings giving up 11 runs (7 earned). Morgan Smith went 2 innings and Jaimey Watrous finished the game pitching the last 3 innings allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 2 strikeouts.
The Loggers are now 18-20 overall and 10-6 in the MWAC conference.
