LLCC won game one 9-1. Morgan Smith posted another stellar performance on the mound allowing just one run on 5 hits and striking out 8 Lewis & Clark hitters. The Loggers posted 13 hits game one. Melinda Wilson was 3-for-3 and Sam Remmert, Laura Bonds, Payton Billups, and Lauren Windisch each added 2 hits in the victory.
The second game ended with a football score. The Loggers had a big first inning scoring 9 runs. At the end of the 3
rd inning Lewis & Clark was winning 12-11. The Loggers then outscored Lewis & Clark 10-1 in the 5
th and 6
th innings. Lincoln Land won game two by one touchdown and a 2 point conversion (21-13 score). Katie Lange (5-6 record) picked up the win in relief of starting pitcher Whitley Baker. Lange worked for innings allowing 4 runs on 5 hits.
Lauren Windisch (5-for-5) and Katie Price (3-for-5) combined for 8 hits to help the Loggers in the come-back win. Brittany Hembrough was also 3-for-5 and scoring 3 times. Torey Sorensen, Jaimey Watrous and Sarah Worster were multiple hitters with 2 hits apiece. Watrous had back-to-back doubles and Sorensen, Hembrough and Morgan Stephens added their own double. Laura Bonds hit a 2 run home run to centerfield in the top of the 6
th.
