The Loggers hosted John Wood at UIS/LOJOSA fields today.  The Loggers won game one 5-2 and lost game two 2-5.  

The Loggers scored 4 runs (all unearned) in the 3^rd and 1 run in the 4^th inning to win 5-2 in game one.  Torey Sorensen was 2-for-3 with double in the 6^th inning.  Sorensen and Payton Billups each had a double. Claire Dubree (4-6) picked up the win.  Dubree went 5 innings allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits and striking out 8 John Wood hitters.   Morgan Smith pitched the last two innings facing 7 hitters and holding the Blazers to no runs with 4 strike outs.

The Loggers had 10 runners left on base in game two scoring only 2 runs despite having 9 hits in a losing effort.  Sophomore catcher Sam Remmert was 3-for-3.  Kayla Jacobs went 2-for-4 with a double. Payton Billups also had a double. Starting pitcher Katie Lange (4-6) was the losing pitcher.  Lange went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits with 3 strikeouts. Closer Morgan Smith finished the last 1 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs while walking 2 and striking out 2.
