Booneville, MS – The Lady Loggers (Softball) split on Sunday at the Tigerfest.   Katie Lange (1-1) got the win against Southwest Tennessee Community College as the Loggers powered past them 8-2.   Lange scattered 10 hits, 2 runs, one walk and 6 strikeouts in her first college softball win as a Logger.

LLCC’s bats came alive in game one.  Payton Billups, Kayla Jacobs and Stephanie Watkins each homered in the 4th inning to give the Loggers the lead 4-0.  The Loggers then scored again in the 5th and 6th and finished with 2 runs in the 6th.  Multiple hitters for LLCC were Jacobs (2-for-4), Billups (3-for-4) and Hannah Dudley (2-for-3 with 2 RBIs).  Sarah Worster scored twice and had 2 RBIs as well.

Game two pitted the Loggers against the host team Northeast Mississippi Community College.  Morgan Smith, who lost the evening before to Pearl CC, started the game and received her second loss in as many days.  Smith went 3 innings, giving up 5 hits and 5 runs.  Jaimey Watrous relieved Smith and went 1 and 2/3 innings before the game ended by the 8 run rule.   Katie Price led off the first inning with a single over the third baseman’s head and it ended up as the only hit in the game for the Loggers.

LLCC finished 1-4 at the Tigerfest.
