The Lincoln Land Loggers stayed home for a conference match up with John Wood Community College Blazers.
Lincoln Land got down 9 in the first half, but fought back and cut the lead to 2 with the halftime score at 30-28 Blazers at half. The Loggers struggled to shoot in the first half and it got worse in the second. Lincoln Land shot 34% from the field in the second half and the Blazers were able to capitalize to seal a 61-53 victory.
John Wood shot a total of 34 free throws while the Loggers only shot 5. The Blazers had a 23 point advantage from the stripe. Overall, the Loggers struggled to capitalize when the opportunities arose and were out rebounded and John Wood shot 50% from the field.
"It’s frustrating because we have done some good things and been in all of our recent games, but can't close the deal. We are doing things right, but we have things to improve on. Once we fix those things we can win some games down the stretch," reflected Coach Chad Jones after the game.
Lincoln Land was lead in scoring by Dwight Cunningham who had a career high 22 points. No other scorer reached double digits.
LLCC falls to 12-9 on the season and 0-3 in the conference.
