Springfield, IL – LLCC softball defeat Millikin University JV in Friday double-header 10-2 and 6-1. The Lady Loggers scored two in the first, five in the second and three in the third to close the deal against Millikin. Marissa Jenkins led all Loggers in hitting going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Jenkins scored twice and stole a base. Shelby Batterton and Hannah Dudley each hit a double in the shortened run ruled game.
Amanda Duncan and Rachel Kindred had two hits for Millikin. Caitlin Reed had the only extra base hit with a double in the first inning.
Kaity Schultz picked up her second in the same number of starts. Schultz pitched all five innings giving up six hits and striking out one.
Emily Mordacq, freshman catcher went 3-for-3 with two RBIs in game two. Payge Bowen got her 10
th win on the season with help from pitchers Brittney Reecer and Kayti Lundin. The three Logger pitchers gave up only three hits in the second victory of the day.
The Lady Loggers are now 33-18 on the season with four conference games left before regionals May 3-5.
