Godfrey, IL – Loggers take two from Lewis & Clark but it took 10 innings to win the first game. Lewis & Clark scored 4 runs in the 2
nd inning and held that lead until the 5
th before the Loggers tied the score at 4-4. In the first inning of international tiebreaker, 8
th inning, centerfielder Jori Gleich threw out a runner at the plate to end the inning to move to the second inning of the tiebreaker. Both teams scored one run in the 9
th inning to take the game into the 10
th. In the last inning, the Loggers scored 4 runs and held on to win the first game 9-6.
Winning pitcher was Kayti Lundin (10-4), went all 10 innings. Sarah Worster went 3-for-4 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Kaity Schultz, Makenzie Carter and Marissa Jenkins had two hits each in this game.
The Loggers defeated Lewis & Clark in five innings by the 8 run rule 10-2. Payge Bowen picked up the win and increased her overall record to 6-3. Sami Estill, Marissa Jenkins and Jori Gleich had three hits apiece while Shelby Batterton and Sarah Worster added two hits each.
