Champaign, IL - Game one didn't go well for LLCC. The Loggers spotted ICC a big lead, primarily on their
hitting errors. The Loggers had eleven unforced errors in game one, a high total. Those errors put the Loggers in a hole as they lost 22-25.
Down one game, the Loggers began to play their style of ball as Kinzie Neilson caught fire. LLCC was down 13-14 in game two the Loggers outscored ICC 12-5 the rest of the way to beat them 25-19.
Tied at one, game three belonged to Kinzie Neilson's offense--her serve and her hitting. ICC tried to key on the Logger middles to force the outsides to beat them. "When Kinzie gets hot, she's a big gun" says Coach Dietz. The game was close until about 7-4 before the Loggers took command to defeat ICC in game three, 25-16.
After some serving errors by both team, hustle, luck and great defense by LLCC, the Loggers defeated #16 ranked ICC 25-10.
LLCC goes to the national championships for the first time in school history.
